Varsha Bhosle's irresponsible article
[Musings]
@ 07:05 PM
When will Ms. Varsha Bhosle realise that dry wit and outright stupid conslusions does not make up an article? Yesterday he wrote an article titled Passivity does not a nation protect in Rediff. I did like the article for the first couple of paragraphs as it contained gems like:
......Islamic terrorists who infiltrate into India from the 52nd State of the USA (Britain being the 51st).
But I was left aghast by the baseless things written by him in the later part. Consider this:
Meaning, just as the massacre of the 58 Hindu kar sevaks in Godhra was perpetrated by Hindus, so is that of the 30-odd devotees at Akshardham... Islam, you see is a "religion of peace." And, if they at all exist, Islamic terrorists -- oops! I should say, "miscreants" -- are just some bad eggs belonging to a widely dispersed terror network of a few thousand members who have "hijacked" Islam...
Could anyone please tell me what the whole paragraph was about? You see the sarcasm was too thick for me to read through. Was he trying to lay the blame of the terror attack on the whole of Islam? Was he trying to say that Islam is a religion of terror and war? I wonder at what vantage point Varsha Bhosle is sitting, because from where I sit, I am ready to question the innocence of Gujarat Chief Minister in this incident. I know for a fact that I am not the only person who shares this suspicion. Could some one please ask Ms. Varsha to please stop acting like a kid. Yup you can do that after you deal with the kiddishness of Bush Jr., but please do it soon.
More ..
However, note PTI's report on the leaflets of an outfit named Tehrik-e-Kasak which were found on the bodies of the slain terrorists who attacked Akshardham: "The leaflets suggested that the group appeared to be from Gujarat itself, National Security Guard officials said."
Meaning, Gujarati Muslims. (I wonder, did Bukhari get a tip-off from his handlers...?) At which point, I can easily take off into the entire history of SIMI in Gujarat and lay out a case on the Godhra arson, as well as Hindu rage that fuelled the subsequent riots.
Unless Ms. Varsha is a part of the group being held responsbile, Tehrik-e-Kasak, I wonder why he is so sure as to the origin and setup of the group. Maybe Ms. Varsha should be given a statistics of how many of the suspected militants killed in Punjab and J&K are actually India citizens.
