How is RSS push?
[Technology] @ 11:05 AM

This article at Boston.com states that RSS syndication is a "Push technology". This is wrong. How is RSS push? Push happens when the server pushes data into a passive client. However, in RSS it is (still) the client that actively fetches the RSS feed. Just like a normal browser. RSS is still a pull technology.

The strange thing about the article is that even though it stamps RSS as "Push", it does not even bother to state the reason why it has been stamped. Is bringing back forgotten buzzwords becoming a new trend?
