(no longer updated)
Whenever I update my blog more than once every half hour, the ping to weblogs.com gets rejected. I get this error message:
Let us for now ignore the condescending tone of that error message. This post deals with why I get this error in the first place. It is a well know fact that weblogs.com does not accept ping from a blog more than once per half-hour. Knowing this, there should be some way to tell my MT setup not to send a ping to weblog.com for a new entry if the earlier ping was sent less than half-hour ago. This functionality should be extended to each and every pings URLs I specify in my setup. Each of the ping URLs should be tied down by a update frequency limit.
As such, rebuild of entries in MT takes a long time. Adding more ping URLs makes that worse. It becomes unbearable when after all that ping-pong you get an error message that the ping was rejected!

MT, be good.
Couple of blog updates. I am using MTOptimizeHTML plugin to shrink the size of the main page of TriNetre. So, hopefully you will see a slight decrease in the time it takes to download the main page.
If you visit the blog (rather than read the feeds), you will see two new section on the right side, titled "Notable Posts" and "Yet to be discovered" where I plan to highlight posts that have set off some discussions and those that I think are interesting but others seem to care less.
And oh yes, a cleaner page for comments and trackbacks.
Bill Day has managed to install Crypt::OpenPGP in his local directory. Great, that leave no excuse for anybody not to support OpenPGPComment :)
Before anyone asks, please direct all related how-to questions to Bill. *devilish grin*
