My paper titled "TCP Vegas-A: Improving the performance of TCP Vegas" has been accepted for publication in Elsevier's Computer Communications journal. It sumarises about 2/3 of my Masters thesis work. This has been a pretty crazy first experience for me in terms getting a paper published in a journal. I had to wait no less that 9 months after I submitted my paper to hear from the reviewers. By the time I heard from them, I had actually forgottten part of what was in the paper! Took me about an hour or so to remember the rationale behind some of the arguments in the paper.
It does raise the issue of how relevant the papers are that gets a year or so to get published? Luckly for me none of the work done in that one year or so invalidated my proposals. I hate to think - what if it did?
